Choose to see the magic




Often, we do not recognize nor appreciate the magic of life. We (myself included) get distracted and caught up in what we can see that we usually do not take a moment to consider what we cannot.


For example, our physical body. There are so many things happening underneath the surface that we can neither see nor do we really appreciate - that is until something stops functioning as intended. Every second your body is carrying out millions of cellular functions that are far below our consciousness awareness. We cannot see or feel readily nutrients being absorbed by our bodies or our lymphatic system draining out toxins. But we know it is happening because we can see the end product.


We know energy exists. Energy is required for our daily lives, and we can choose (for the most part) to feel different types of energy. We can choose to feel positive energy that makes us happy, or we can choose to feel negative energy that results in stress and anxiety. And this choice is more significant than we often realize. Negative energy not only impacts our mood, but also our health. Let's start by exploring our own energy. Did you know that your cells vibrate?

This suggests that every human being emits a vibrational energy that we are not able to see but can detect if we are intentionally aware. You may have had said or have heard people say that someone's energy is off, or they have good or bad energy.


Not only do we emit energy, but we can absorb energy. Pessimism affects more than your emotional health. In fact, studies have found that people with high levels of negativity are more likely to suffer from degenerative brain diseases, cardiovascular health problems, digestive issues, and recover from sickness slower than those with a positive mindset according to Marque Medical.


While there are skeptics out there, even though we cannot see energy, it has a significant impact on our lives and outcomes. This is why it is critical to be intentionally aware of your thoughts, emotions, and energy. What are some ways we can overcome negativity to recognize the magic of positive energy.


First, recognize what is real and what narratives you are telling yourself. Our mind is very good at playing tricks on us and we can get sucked into thought patterns that are not grounded in reality. Second, live in the moment. This is closely related to recognizing what is real. Let the past go - it's already done and try to not play out the future. Appreciate and notice the here and now.


You can also turn your negativity into action. Instead on dwelling on something in your mind, what action can you take to change the situation or make yourself feel better. We all have the choice to stay stagnant or take action. Finally, be around uplifting people. As we already established, we absorb energy and so the more positive people you surround yourself with, the more likely you are to have a positive attitude.


So many tiny miracles are happening in and around us every day. Choose to recognize and be grateful for the magic in life rather than being lazer focused on all of the potential challenges.
